The Endless Blockade dissolved on July 3rd 2010 for all the reasons bands that have been around for a number of years do. In typical fashion we didn't tell anyone we were breaking up until about six months afterwards. We just coyly announced it might be our last show for a while.
About a week before the show the five of us got together for one afternoon and recorded ourselves playing most of our set live in the room.
There was no real plan to do anything with the recording, maybe a half-arsed idea to release it as a split with our noise alter ego, Death Agonies. Mostly we just wanted to document the line up of the band that had Bloomer involved.
Released in an edition of 100 tapes for the first show of Column of Heaven, a band that was originally carrying on a few of the ideas i was working on with Eric in Blockade but never managed to realise.
The recording is a fairly accurate document of our live set, but with significantly less noise than we were doing by this stage, and no elbows to the face by a singer that clearly didn't want you to be there.
Blockade members can be found in Farang, Wired Shut, Column of Heaven, Wolves of Heaven, and about 247 noise projects in varying states of activity including Slow Light, Urine Cop, Black Paintings, Gack, and Black Iron Prison.
On the rare occasions we manage to leave the house you can find most of us propping up the bar at Thirsty and Miserable in Toronto.
